RevMan 5 is the software used for preparing and maintaining Cochrane Reviews. RevMan facilitates preparation of protocols and full reviews, including text, characteristics of studies, comparison tables, and study data. It can perform meta-analysis of the data entered, and present the results graphically.
In addition to reviews of studies of the effects of healthcare interventions, you can use RevMan to write reviews of diagnostic test accuracy studies, reviews of studies of methodology and overviews of reviews.
Together with Archie, RevMan 5 forms the core Cochrane authoring infrastructure, which enables Cochrane contributors to meet the demands of producing high quality systematic reviews of the evidence of the effects of healthcare and deliver these for publication in the Cochrane Library and elsewhere.
The latest major version, RevMan 5.3, was released on 13 June 2014.
RevMan 5 is no longer being developed, but we continue to support our users. We are currently working on the next generation of review writing software: RevMan Web. This is a new, browser-based version of RevMan.
