1. Financial interests

a) Received research funding: any grant, contract or gift, commissioned research, or fellowship from The Cochrane Collaboration or a related organisation (i.e. any organisation related to health care or medical research) to conduct research?
Yes - In 2019, Cochrane Norway received funds from The Cochrane Collaboration to work on a Project to agree on a set of core principles for dissemination. In 2020/2021, I carried out a Cochrane Review that received funding through the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), project number: 806776. The IMI receives funding from Horizon 2020 and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). Cochrane's Conflict of Interest Arbiters considered this case and determined that the Innovative Medicines Initiative funding for the review does not breach the Cochrane Commercial Sponsorship Policy. Their decision was based on the fact that there is no direct funding by the pharmaceutical industry. IMI's funding is part of a partnership, with controls and legislation around how the money is spent, and there seems to be extensive canvassing to set the research agenda, which must also align with EU and WHO goals. My position as an editor at Cochrane EPOC and a researcher at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health is partly funded through grants and contracts from Norad (www.norad.no) and the World Health Organization. These funds are paid directly to the Norwegian Institute of Public Health.

b) Had paid consultancies: any paid work, consulting fees (in cash or kind) from a related organisation?
No

c) Received honoraria: one-time payments (in cash or kind) from a related organisation?
No

d) Served as a director, officer, partner, trustee, employee or held a position of management with a related organisation?
Yes - I am a researcher at Cochrane Norway's host institution, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health

e) Possessed share-holdings, stock, stock options, equity with a related organisation (excludes mutual funds or similar arrangements where the individual has no control over the selection of the shares)?
No

f) Received personal gifts from a related organisation?
No

g) Had an outstanding loan with a related organisation?
No

h) Received royalty payments from a related organisation?
No

2. Do you have any other competing interests that could pose a conflict of interest that would reasonably appear to be related to the primary interest?
