COCHRANE LIBRARY USERS’ GROUP (CLUG) REPORT TO THE
STEERING GROUP
One.
Is this what you expected when you set your budget for the year?
I did not set the budget for 2005 so I am not sure
of the expectations.
The convening group currently comprises Emma Irvin,
Quenby Mahood, and Doreen Day of the Institute for Work and Health. The CLUG membership at last count was 512
(up from 470 in September 03). Godwin
Aja and Peter Tugwell represent the Steering Group on the CLUG.
The CLUG convenor has been
encouraging the CLUG to participate as part of the CD Rom test group.
The CLUG will continue to provide feedback on developments with the new Wiley
interface and to seek clarification on any of the issues.
The CLUG requests that the Steering
Group attempts, where appropriate, to keep the membership informed of any developments
that may pertain to them.
Recognizing that not all of its members may have up
to date computer systems, CLUG has a concern about the size of the Wiley CD-Rom
version of CLIB and therefore some of the issues that this will pose for
installation. We would like to know what, if any measures, may be undertaken to
make sure that the CD-Rom is available to all of its users. We are aware that
this topic will be discussed at the PPG conference call on 8 March 2005, and
will be part of the PPG report to CCSG.
I have not submitted a budget for the current
financial year.
Our
budgetary requirements for April 2005 to March 2006 would be for a CLUG day and
its promotion, say, £1,600.
Emma Irvin,
Convenor, Cochrane Library
Users’ Group
