The future of evidence synthesis in Cochrane

On September 9, 2021, Cochrane’s Editor in Chief, Karla Soares-Weiser, presented a reimagining of Cochrane’s model for synthesizing evidence to the Cochrane Community at the Join the Conversation webinars. To respond to the immediate and future challenges facing our organization, she laid out a proposal for a new structure and process for producing evidence synthesis. A recording of this presentation is available below.

Rethinking Cochrane’s model for producing evidence syntheses is a significant undertaking that needs the collective intellect and passion of our highly skilled and committed Cochrane community. There are different options for change that we could pursue; the new Future Cochrane website presents one potential model for our community to consider. Information gathered via this site, in the Community Engagement Workshops and collected as part of the Editorial Independence and Efficiency Project will inform a business case to be presented to the Governing Board by the end of December 2021. You can explore the different components of this programme of work below.
