The Governing Board is meeting in Prague on 7,8 and 9 September 2024 – ahead of the Global Evidence Summit.

This will be the first meeting of the Governing Board with our new Chair in post, Dr Susan Phillips.

Item on the agenda include: financial planning, fundraising strategy, updates on Open Access (with colleagues from Wiley in attendance), Cochrane events and implementing the new Scientific Strategy.

Since the last Governing Board meeting on 24 June 2024, the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, , the Governance and Nominations Committee, the Product Development Oversight Committee, and the Future of Evidence Synthesis Committee have all met and there will be updates from the Committees included on the agenda.

The Governance and Nominations Committee will ask the Board to approve the 2024 elections process. Five elected members of the Governing Board come to the end of their terms this year; Jordi Pardo Pardo, Sally Green, Yuan Chi, Emma Persad and Vanessa Piechotta and so elections will be held. The call for nominations will be made in late September, look out for more information about Governing Board elections soon.

The Board will consider a proposal from the Future Engagement Mechanism Working Group around establishing an Advisory Panel and other way of improving two way engagement between the Cochrane community and the central organisation.

The Governing Board will approve arrangements for an Annual General Meeting which will be held in November 2024. More information to follow.
