The four-day workshop combines a series of lectures and exercises. For maximum workshop efficiency, we have divided the participants into three groups. Each group has two certified teachers and one teaching assistant assigned. The attached shows assignment of all attendees.
Group A include Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia’s attendees. Under the leadership of our teacher, they conducted the topic about “The efficacy and safety of ceftazidime/avibactam in the treatment of Gram-negative bacterial infections: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials”.
Group B was consist of India and Philippines attendees. Prof. Joyce supported and other India’s attendees conducted the topic about “Ceftazidime-avibactam versus other antimicrobial agents for treatment of Multidrug resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa: a systematic review and meta-analysis”. They sent the protocol on the last day of the workshop. The other topic “Fosfomycin for the Treatment of Drug-resistant Urinary Tract Infections:A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis” were conducted by Philippines’ attendees.
Attendees who came from Malaysia and Vietnam were assigned to group C. Their topic was about “Safety and Efficacy of Azithromycin-containing versus
Azithromycin-free Regimens for Malaria Prophylaxis in Pregnancy: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis”. Besides conducting SR-MA, group c also tried Network Meta-analysis.
Through fully discussion and exercises, participates can better understand the process about conducting Systematic Review & Meta-Analysis. The extensive handout materials are provided.
After the workshop is complete, our team let participants do some questionnaire and know their level increasing or not. We gather all the data for our evaluation, analyze the data for trends, strengths and weaknesses, and how closely the workshop adhered to the goals and objectives.
