The 3rd Beijing Forum of Evidence-based Medicine&Cochrane China Netwok Symposium was successfully held online on January 14 and15, 2023 . The hosts of this meeting are Cochrane China Network and Beijing GRADE Center and the organizers are centre for Evidence-based Medicine of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing GRADE Center, Institute for Excellence in Evidence-Based Chinese Medicine, BUCM; and the co-organizers are Cochrane China Network Affiliates, including: Department of Evidence-based Medicine and Clinical Epidemiology, Wuhan University;Evidence-based Medicine Centre, School of Public Health, Lanzhou University;School of Public Health and Management, Chongqing Medical University;The Nethersole School of Nursing, The Chinese University of Hong Kong;Chinese Cochrane Center, West China Hospital, Sichuan University; Centre for Evidence-based Medicine and Clinical Research, Peking University; Evidence-based Medicine Centre, Fudan University; University of Nottingham Ningbo.
The conference invited the founder of evidence-based medicine, Academician Gordon Guyatt of McMaster University, Canada, as well as senior management personnels from the headquarters of Cochrane Collaboration Network and 5 internationally renowned scholars from countries and regions such as the UK, the US, and Hong Kong, as well as 25 scholars from 9 affiliates of Cochrane China Network to give academic presentations.
The conference engaged in in-depth exchanges and discussions on cutting-edge issues in evidence-based medicine, divided into four modules: interpretation of Cochrane submission and publication policy, evidence transfomation, frontiers of systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, and clinical research methods.
This forum is a high-level international conference in the field of evidence-based medicine in China. Senior managers of the Cochrane Collaboration and all member organizations of the Cochrane China Collaboration participated in the forum, especially the attendance of Academician Gordon Guyatt, the founder of evidence-based medicine, which made the academic level and influence of this conference more prominent.
