Cochrane Affiliate Centre Organizes Workshop on Systematic Review and Meta-analysis at Vadodara
The Cochrane Affiliate Centre at King George's Medical University, Lucknow, organized a comprehensive lecture and hands-on workshop on Cochrane systematic review and meta-analysis at K. M. Shah Dental College, Vadodara, on May 8–9, 2025.
A total of 39 participants registered for this extensive workshop aimed at enhancing skills in evidence-based research. The sessions covered all major components of conducting a Cochrane systematic review and meta-analysis, including formulating a research question, performing database searches, data extraction, risk of bias assessment, statistical analysis, and evaluating the certainty of evidence.
In addition to the technical training, participants were introduced to the vision and mission of Cochrane. The facilitators explained how individuals can actively contribute to various Cochrane initiatives and support evidence-informed decision-making among healthcare stakeholders.
An interactive Q&A session was held where participants’ queries—particularly those related to meta-analysis—were thoroughly addressed by expert speakers, Prof. Balendra Pratap Singh and Prof. Raghuwar Dayal Singh.
The workshop was well-received and proved to be a valuable opportunity for participants to build capacity in systematic review methodology aligned with Cochrane standards.
